Domink Burger

Dominik Burger*1963, studierte Schlagzeug und Vibrafon an der Swiss Jazz School in Bern bei Billie Brooks und Silvano Bazan, später Workshops bei Roberto Gatto und Keith Copeland. Intensive Arbeit (auch als Komponist) mit langfristigen Projekten wie "Le cabinet" (88 - 92, mit Dominik Blum), SPOG (95 - 00) "Nadelöhr" ( 93 - 04), "Schmilz" ( 00 - 03 mit dem luxemburgischen Bassklarinettisten Michel Pilz).

Auftritte oder Aufnahmen mit Evan Parker, Vinny Golia, Ned Rothenberg, Urs Leimgruber, Marco Colonna, Christoph Grab, Christian Weber, Ch. Sprenger,John Wolf Brenan etc.

Aktuelle Projekte sind: "Fabulous Fable Trio" (mit M. Gloor und T. Hort), Burger/Kielholz (Vibrafon und Baritongitarre), Rojas/Burger (Gitarre und Schlagzeug), "Lottrio" (mit Peter Schmid und H. P. Künzle), "Vibtrio" (mit P. Larcher und X. Steiner) sowie die Souljazzformation 7up. Freelance-Projekte in Jazz, Funk und Rock.

Auftragskompositionen vor allem für Chöre.

Werkbeitrag des Aargauer Kuratoriums 2001.

Unterrichtstätigkeit an der Kantonsschule Zürcher Oberland und an der Musikschule Uster/Greifensee. Als Ensembleleiter Preise an verschiedenen Wettbewerben.

Dominik Burger studied at the Swiss Jazz School Bern (perc vib comp arr). He also studied with Roberto Gatto in Siena and with Keith Copeland at the Interlaken Jazz Workshop 92. He plays drums and vibes in several jazzbands and takes on a lot of commission work and arrangements. In 2001 he recieved a reward for his musical works from the „Aargauer Kuratorium“.

Dominik Burger teaches drums at the Kantonschule Zürcher Oberland and at the Musikschule Uster/Greifensee. He conducts two big bands and a junior concert band.
